Tuesday 3rd July Arrived in Hong Kong and used the airport express to get to our hotel. We had a lovely and very filling lunch at a restaurant not too far from our hotel. We then decided to chill in the hotel Wednesday 4th July Disneyland! For the first time ever! The rides made me feel a bit unwell, perhaps due to motion sickness or the very hot weather? Or maybe I'm just getting old? Who knows but all in all I had a great time! It's not the biggest one but I think it's a good starting point...

Sunday 1st July Today was all about Ha Long bay. We booked a one day cruise which gave us a nice overview of what was on offer. It's around a three hour coach ride from Hanoi which isn't too bad. As you can imagine it's a pretty crowded place and you have to make sure that you keep your day pass with you. I won't be saying too much as I think that pictures will do it more justice but it was a beautiful day.

Saturday 30th June Touchdown Hanoi! Due to a few delays at the airport we arrived much later than expected. First impressions of Hanoi as the capital of Vietnam? Pretty cool and chilled. Our hotel was situated in the old French quarters which was ideal and right at the heart of the action. As the name suggests, this part of Hanoi serves as a throwback to how the architecture and design of the city was whilst under French ruling. Nowadays it is a thriving commercial area of sorts that caters...

*This post may be a bit long so get comfortable* On Tuesday, 24th July I graduated from University with a First in Hospitality Management and Food Studies but let's take it all the way back, to the beginning. Before University I'd decided to take a gap year for a number of reason but also clarity about my next step in life. I was not happy with my A- Level results and I decided to scrap the initial path that I had initially thought I would tow. I also used the year to redo some modules (in my...

Sunday 10th June Today we went to the Taj Mahal, a place that I've always wanted to check out. Tickets were pricey but it's understandable considering that it's a world renowned monument. Foreigners pay 1000Rs whilst locals pay 40Rs. Go figure lol. The benefits however are that you get to queue jump which is only fair considering that you're paying such a large amount. You also get a 500ml bottle of water which is included in the price and toilets are free for you to use. Considering how hot...

First day (Arrival) We've arrived! I don't know what to expect but I quickly realise that India is a different ballgame. For starters it reminds me of Lagos where lanes are painted for decoration; nobody actually sticks to it and 5 lanes appear instead of the four that it is supposed to be. Also horns are used to make your presence known- and felt too. After settling into our hotel we tried to figure out our local train or metro station. In trying to find the metro railway station near our...

Nepal was our first country on our tour and of a truth it does not scream out as an obvious tourist destination except if you're climbing Mt. Everest which I did want to do originally ( base camp ) but after realising how long it'll take I quickly scrapped that idea. Maybe another time, who knows? We decided to go there anyway and I'm so glad we went. I really loved Nepal and the place we stayed at Kasthamandap Boutique hotel was great and I cannot recommend the place enough. The location was...
