Hey guys, how was your week? I hope it was good! I didn’t post last week because it was father’s day and I just decided to chill with the family.
So today, I stumbled across a documentary ‘Protecting our Foster kids’ on BBC iPlayer. To say I found it a bit emotional was an understatement.
Who knew about a lady by the name of Rachel Dolezal? Well, neither did I until a few days ago. Get this, she ‘pretended’ to be of African- American heritage for many years. Recently she was ‘outed’ by her parents for being a liar.
When I say my response was shock that is an understatement. I didn’t know what to make of it all. You couldn’t make this stuff up if you tried. I mean, why on earth would anyone do that? Now, unsurprisingly she is facing a lot of backlash. There are many questions to ask and issues raised out of which I will try and dissect a few.
You know the feeling when your heart feels weak but not in the medical sense? You literally feel as if your heart will break into a million innumerable pieces. Each piece scattered in all directions from north to south and east to west.
It’s as if life has stopped and you are isolated whilst watching everyone else continuing with their own lives. You’re a bystander in this thing called life. Your emotions hold you prisoner with little chance of bail.
Yeah. Well I’ve been there. I’ve been heartbroken.
